IRS Sent Many Stimulus Payments to the Wrong Bank Accounts

We have been notified by the IRS that many stimulus payments were sent to wrong bank accounts. They are aware of this mistake and have corrected the situation. The IRS will mail your stimulus check within 6 – 9 business days (or by April 29th).

If your mailing address has not changed since we filed your tax return, you don’t need to do anything. The IRS will mail your check to the address on your return.

IMPORTANT: IF YOUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED since we filed your return – you need to notify us immediately.

The IRS needs Form 8822: Change of Address completed if your mailing address has changed. We will prepare the form and email it to you. You will only need to print it out, sign it and mail it to the IRS at the address included in the email. NOTE: IRS Form 8822 is required even if you put in a change of address at the post office.

Please be aware that it can take a minimum of 6 – 12 weeks for IRS to process your new address and mail your stimulus check.
